Terms of use
Last updated 12 June 2026. Halfseat is operated by Visick Hospitality Ltd, registered in England and Wales ("Halfseat", "we"). By booking a table you agree to these terms.
What Halfseat is
Halfseat lists same-day tables that restaurants choose to release. When you claim one, you pay a booking fee to hold the table and receive 50% off the food bill at that meal. Drinks are charged at full price. The meal itself is a contract between you and the restaurant, we arrange the table and the discount.
The booking fee
The fee depends on party size: £5 for 1-2 guests, £8 for 3-4, £14 for 5-6 or more. It is one fee per booking, not per head. The fee holds the table and is not a deposit against your bill.
The discount
50% off food only, for the party size you booked. Drinks, service charge and anything the restaurant reasonably excludes on the night (for example a special event menu it has flagged) are full price. Show your booking code or give your name at the door.
Cancellations and the booking fee
The booking fee is non-refundable. It confirms a last-minute table the restaurant is holding for you, so it is paid to the restaurant and Halfseat the moment you confirm. If you can't make it, you can release the table from the link on your confirmation page or email so someone else can take it, but the fee is not returned. If the restaurant cancels on you, you get a full refund and we will try to seat you somewhere comparable.
Fair use
Restaurants may cap how often the discount applies per diner (typically a few visits per year per venue, shown on the venue page). Bookings are for personal dining, not resale. We may suspend accounts that abuse the platform, including repeated no-shows.
Liability
We are responsible for the booking service working as described and for your booking fee. The meal, the premises and the service on the night are the restaurant's responsibility. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability to you is capped at the booking fees you paid in the previous 12 months.
The boring but important bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If a term is found unenforceable the rest still stand. We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date and apply to bookings made after that date.
